| Physical Description | Growing up on Kassae Outpost, Ely kept her physique at peak condition. Her strength comes from being functional rather than aesthetic. Pulling her weight, she grew up around building her core strength and building things with her hands including grunt work, hauling equipment, maintaining outpost structures, and handling tools. Eventually while hitting her teens, she took up combat training to improve her peak conditioning before being enlisted by Starfleet as a tactical operator. Strong, grounded, compact and capable of high tolerance under strain, she pushed her limits and kept her cool throughout her Starfleet career. She wears a septum ring on and off duty, signifying her outgoing personality and strength. It’s subtle, easily removable, and not flashy. It fits her quiet but deadly aesthetic. Several tattoos stay hidden beneath her Starfleet uniform. Her hair shifts between a tactical braided half‑up bun and a layered tactical bob, depending on her duty station. Beautiful but deadly, her physique is structured, sharp, and controlled. You never see her coming despite her cool exterior. As a tactical operator, her physical prowess is graceful. Elegant. Not showy. Understated and subtle. |

Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Elysia carries herself with the quiet confidence of someone who has lived through chaos and learned to stay centered inside it. She’s grounded, observant, and emotionally self‑contained; not cold, just controlled. Her El‑Aurian side gives her a natural sense for people and situations, while her Betazoid heritage adds depth and intuition she rarely advertises. She listens more than she speaks, and when she does speak, it’s deliberate. Stellar Cartography became a huge part of her personality, her ability to read maps and anticipate directions or patterns. Years of tactical work shaped her into someone who reacts under pressure with precision rather than panic. She’s not intimidating by design, but her presence has weight. The kind that makes a room settle when she walks in. She’s steady, capable, and unshakeably loyal to the people she chooses to trust. Underneath the discipline, she has a dry sense of humor, a protective streak a mile wide, and a softness she keeps carefully guarded. |
|
| Strengths & Weaknesses | • Situational Awareness: Elysia reads a room in seconds. Tone, tension, intent. It’s instinctive. • Calm Under Fire: Pressure sharpens her. She’s at her best when everything is going wrong. • Strategic Mind: She sees angles, patterns, and threat vectors others miss. • Physical Resilience: Built from years of functional labor and tactical training. • Loyalty: Once she commits to someone, she commits fully. • Emotional Discipline: She can compartmentalize when needed. It was survival skill from both her heritage and her career. • Guarded: She keeps people at arm’s length until they’ve proven themselves. • Self‑Sacrificing: She’ll take the hit rather than let someone else suffer it. • Over‑Responsibility: She carries failures, even ones that aren’t hers, longer than she should. • Difficulty Delegating: She trusts her own competence more than others’, especially in tactical situations. • Blunt Honesty: When she decides to speak plainly, she doesn’t sugarcoat. |
|
| Ambitions | Elysia doesn’t chase rank for its own sake. She chases competence. She wants to be the person who can walk into a crisis and make it survivable. Her drive isn’t about prestige; it’s about control, clarity, and preventing the kind of failures she’s witnessed firsthand. She wants to build something stable. A crew, a department, a future. It doesn’t collapse the moment pressure hits. And beneath all of that, quietly, she wants to understand where she comes from: her El‑Aurian father, the pieces of her heritage that vanished with him, and the parts of herself she’s never fully explored. |
|
| Hobbies & Interests | • Stellar Cartography: Passed down from her mother, it became a grounding ritual. Mapping the stars calms her mind. • Hand Tools & Repairs: A holdover from Kassae Outpost; she likes fixing things with her hands. • Combat Drills: For discipline and clarity. • Long Walks in Quiet Spaces and perimeter checks: Observation is her meditation. • Cultural Histories: Especially El‑Aurian oral traditions and Betazoid philosophy. • Coffee Rituals: She inherited Kylen Padgett’s appreciation for slow, intentional brewing. • Sparring: Controlled, technical, and a way to keep her body and mind aligned. Her tastes in music include precise orchestral and neoclassical pieces used for focus (similar in tone to the minimalist, Murakami‑adjacent style), El‑Aurian cultural music which she listens to privately, structured electronic soundscapes with a cyberpunk edge, and tactical or training playlists built for performance. She does not enjoy emotional music or romantic songs. |
Service History
| Personal History | Born on Kassae Outpost in 2350 to Kaelor and Maren. She got her El Aurian senses from her father and her Betazoid empathy from her mother. That combination alone molded her early years on the outpost. The middle child of an older brother, Kaelen, and the younger sister, Elara, Elysia became the stabilizer of the two. The middle child. When her father vanished when Elysia was in her early teens, it left a wound that never went away. During her pre-teens, before her father’s disappearance, Elysia helped around the outpost. She volunteered for tasks, and helped with the general maintenance and technical support. She shadowed her father for several years, learning from him. When he vanished on her thirteenth birthday, it left a wound. A mark. A family friend, Kylen Padgett, covered the ground the late Kaelor left behind and offered his assistance to her mother, Maren. After dating for almost a year, they married. Her interest in Stellar Cartography stemmed from her mother, who served as an astrophysics specialist on Kassae Outpost. When her father vanished, Elysia found herself drifting, lost in the stars, searching for something she couldn’t name. Maren grounded her by sharing one of her own disciplines, teaching her mapping and star navigation. However, science wasn’t her path. Still unmoored, she kept her body and mind occupied by helping maintain Kassae Outpost and, later, assisting her stepfather in the outlying regions. The work built her early physical strength and gave her a sense of purpose, but not direction. In early 2367, when the Federation came under attack by an unknown enemy, the Borg. during Wolf 359, Elysia watched the aftermath unfold across the outpost’s holo terminals. Starships burning. Casualty lists updating in real time. The Federation shaken. In that moment, she understood exactly what she wanted to do with her life. She threw herself into studying and preparing for the Academy entrance exam, determined to serve. At eighteen, she entered Starfleet Academy in San Francisco as a Tactical cadet, carrying with her a continued interest in the sciences she grew up with, especially Stellar Cartography. Upon her graduation, Starfleet commissioned her with the rank of ensign onboard a frontier patrol ship, a Saber‑class vessel designated the USS Sable‑Eye, as a junior tactical officer. Her duties included monitoring tactical systems, threat analysis and threat response drills. She served during the Federation-Klingon conflict and the rising Dominion threat. During the escalating tensions of the pre‑Dominion War era, the USS Sable‑Eye sustained significant damage amid the chaos caused by widespread Changeling infiltration throughout the Alpha Quadrant. Moored at a Starfleet repair facility, Elysia was placed on extended leave, six to twelve months, during which she studied Dominion tactics and prepared for the conflict she knew was coming. When the Dominion War began, the Sable‑Eye returned to service with upgraded tactical systems designed to counter Jem’Hadar strike patterns. For the next two years, she resumed frontier patrol and combat operations until her destruction in the Battle of Chin’toka in 2375. Elysia survived, along with other personnel, in escape pods later recovered by allied vessels. Promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade, she took a period of leave to recuperate from the after‑effects of the war. Upon her return, Starfleet reassigned her to a newly constructed Saber‑class vessel, the USS Sable‑Eye‑A. From 2376 to 2381, she served aboard the Sable‑Eye‑A during the Reconstruction and Typhon Pact era, conducting border security operations, reconstruction support, and humanitarian assistance throughout the recovering Alpha Quadrant. During a recovery and humanitarian assistance operation in the Belias system in 2381, the Borg attacked and destroyed the USS Sable‑Eye‑A while Elysia was on an away mission planetside. As the ship patrolled the outer system, the Borg targeted her and destroyed her in the blink of an eye. The loss left Elysia devastated and angry. Instead of requesting another ship assignment, she wrote an angry resume of her skills and threw her application into the void. She’d heard of the Starfleet Rangers only by reputation. They never recruited openly and only selected a few based on their skills and qualifications. Reading over her application, they accepted her into their ranks, along with a promotion to lieutenant. She served with the Rangers during 2381 through 2385, investigating and operating wherever they assigned her. Using a variety of starfleet ships as her personal transport, she patrolled, investigated criminal activities and protected the frontier from threats. Eventually, her hunt of one elusive fugitive led her to Deep Space 9. Becoming a liaison to Starfleet Security, she enlisted the aid of the chief to assist her mission. During her investigation, she witnessed the assassination of President Bacco. Her elusive prey covered their tracks cleanly and vanished. For the duration of two months, she retraced her path to rediscover where her fugitive disappeared during the confusion. However, she lost the trail. After months of trying to recover the dead trail, Starfleet Rangers Command reassigned the case due to insufficient leads. The decision left her directionless. Unable to take on another assignment in her current state, Elysia stepped away from Ranger field duty and requested reassignment to a Starfleet vessel, ultimately receiving orders to the USS Ithaca as its new Chief Strategic Operations Officer. Additionally, she accepted a new commission of Lieutenant Commander. |
