Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Measured, deeply competent, and rigorously controlled in the Vulcan tradition. T'Lara does not perform warmth for the comfort of others, but neither is she cold. Her regard is expressed through attention, exactness, and the effort she spends on a problem before speaking. She has a long memory, a longer patience, and an exact sense of obligation. She does not waste words. She is also one of the very few people in Starfleet who can deliver a reprimand that lands without ever raising her voice. | |

Service History
| Personal History | Born on Vulcan in 2248, T'Lara was raised in a family of civil administrators and archive scholars in the ShiKahr region. In formal Vulcan records her identity is rendered with clan, lineage, and house markers, but in Starfleet service she uses the single personal name by which she is known to offworlders: T'Lara. She does not use a human given name, and she has never found Starfleet's occasional insistence on forenames especially logical. She entered Starfleet Academy in 2266 and graduated in 2270, choosing operations and command rather than science. Her early career was spent on the Federation-Klingon border in the difficult decades before the Khitomer Accords. She served through the long cold war with the Klingon Empire, the Tomed crisis, the difficult Cardassian frontier years, and the first decades of renewed Romulan contact. She commanded the USS Tabriz, an Excelsior-class cruiser, from 2330 to 2342, including operations during the Cardassian frontier conflicts. She was promoted to Rear Admiral in 2378 after extended service in Exploration Command and post-war fleet reconstruction. She is one of the few senior Starfleet officers who served continuously from the late 23rd century through the Borg invasion. She lost her son, a Lieutenant Commander aboard the USS Bondar, at Wolf 359 in 2367. She lost her granddaughter, a Lieutenant aboard the USS Cousteau, during the Borg invasion of 2381 at the destruction of Risa. She does not speak of these losses publicly. T'Lara was an advocate within Starfleet Exploration Command for the expansion of the Luna-class construction programme and resuming Starfleet's exploration programmes. In late 2385, with President zh'Tarash's renewed exploration mandate taking shape, she accepted command of Task Force 74, the Starfleet formation assigned to the Vesper March. Her flag is based at Starbase 74, where she oversees the Lantern Fleet's exploration, relief, patrol, and frontier stabilisation work. |
