Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Stelek is logical, dispassionate, exact, and dry, even by the standards of his people. He speaks briefly and to the point, and he is difficult to move once he has reached a conclusion by application of rigorous logic. He is not unkind, though as with most Vulcans, he has learnt to suppress his emotions and does not let them interfere with his daily life. In the latter part of his career he has dedicated himself to the research and development of holograms and other artificial life forms. |

| Strengths & Weaknesses | Stelek's depth in Starfleet computer and holographic systems is difficult to overstate and easy to underestimate. He has worked through more than a century of the field's development, from duotronic cores to isolinear architecture to the holomatrix. He is meticulous with diagnostics, immovable on the safeguards, and scrupulous about audit logs. On the systems he is responsible for, he is very rarely wrong. The same exactness is his limitation. He distrusts improvisation and has little regard for engineering built from whatever is at hand rather than done properly, which puts him at odds with a certain kind of talented, unorthodox engineers. He is slow to accept a novel method and slower to concede that a rule he has kept for a century might not apply. Stelek treats people with the same logical ruthlessness that he would apply to a system diagnostic, and his refusal to soften an assessment reads, to those who do not know him, as coldness or obstruction. |

| Ambitions | Stelek would not describe himself as ambitious. He has declined advancement more than once when it would have taken him from the work, and he holds a warrant rather than a commission by deliberate choice, having no interest in command and every interest in the systems themselves. What he wants from the Ithaca posting, as far as he permits himself to want anything, is for the trial to be conducted honestly and judged on its results, whatever those turn out to be. He would consider it a failure of his responsibility if the system were allowed to succeed, or to fail, for any reason other than its own merits. |
